4th Grade Field Trip

Hunter always wants me to go on his field trips with him which I am SOOOOOO happy about since my oldest child would be MORTIFIED to have me with her on a field trip....LOL! So I joined the 4th grade classes at Old Mill to their day at "This is the Place". I hadn't ever been there and I would love to go back sometime with all of the kids.
Hunter with his girlfriend giggling at him (he would be mad if he knew I put this on here!)
Hunter with one of his best friends.....Cash Lloyd
I thought these baby ducks following their mamas was so adorable.
We learned all about the importance of a blacksmith in a pioneer town.
Hunter was getting a little bored,  I think!
They had a village of pioneer buildings and this one was a replica of a school house that was in Heber.

Look at the kids in their desks at the schoolhouse. They had authentic chalk boards to write on.
The teacher showed the boys what would happen if the kids got in trouble. She also added books to each hand when they got in trouble a second time.
I had no idea that the pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley had their own alphabet!
They learned about pushing and pulling hand carts.
I'm glad my boy still loves me!

Such a big helper!

If I could freeze time with Mckenna I would. I'd keep her just like she is for FOREVER. I can't tell you how much Powell and I are enjoying her. She is such a DELIGHT. My favorite days are the days when I don't have much going on (unfortunately those days aren't often enough). It doesn't take much to make her excited. She tells me all the time, "Mom, I'm happy!". She loves to help change the fish water. She is so funny talking about the "shish" as she is trying to catch it. If I try to help her she says, "I can do it mom!".

What's there not to love about those BIG BROWN EYES!

We have been planting trees and shrubs the past week or so and Mckenna has been right in the middle of it. She loves to help and talk about the trees. She says, "Mom, I love our trees".  By the way....I didn't encourage the socks with the outfit....I'm choosing my battles. After all, she is 2!
