Easter Fun at the Zermatt

We decided to go to the pancake breakfast and Easter egg hunt at the Zermatt on the Saturday before Easter. I was so excited to not have to fill and hide the eggs myself (even though the kids were mad that I was breaking tradition). The food was great and the kids enjoyed the egg hunt. They separated the kids into age groups which made it nice. Grandma, Aunt Rachel and Hansen joined us because Powell was out of town.

Cute little eater!
I tried to put a stop to the big earrings but Powell's parents gave them to her so what could I do!

Brinley loves Bacon!

This little girl loves her Easter candy!

Hansen is sticking stickers on himself. Aren't these two the cutest friends?
These two were camped out in this corner by some condos....they had staked it out way before it was their time.

Thanks Grandma and Denise for watching the kids while I played at the Zermatt!

New Baby Chicks

I have wanted chickens for a couple of years and I'm so glad we decided to get them! The kids have loved watching them grow, feeding them and holding them. Brinley has especially been a good helper with the chickens. She isn't scared at all. I can't believe how fast they have grown. They are so much bigger just since I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago. The other day Brinley said, "When I grow up I don't want to be a dance teacher.....I want to be a "CHICKEN MOM". Coming soon will be pictures of our adorable coop!

Thought it was lipstick!

This little girl is obsessed with chapstick, lip gloss and lip stick. She found Brinley's markers and was very carefully applying it to her lips and cheeks. When I showed her in the mirror how she looked she got really mad! Sorry little M!

Hunter turns 9!

Hunter is such a cute boy. I love him so much. I'm so glad he is 9 because everyone thinks he is 10 anyway because he is such a tall dude. He invited 3 friends the day before his birthday to go to "Jump on It" in Linden. Afterwards we went to In-and-Out Burger and then back to our house for dessert and to open presents. I had to laugh at the conversations these boys had in the car. They were talking about mustaches and someone said they had heard there were 5 6th grade boys who already had mustaches. Then someone else said they heard there was actually a 6th grade GIRL who had a mustache. There was also talk about girls and plenty of farts and burps on the ride home.

For some reason he did some crazy moves before he blew out the candle.

Hunger Games

I read the Hunger Games books while I was on bed rest with Mckenna. I loved the first 2 but had a hard time getting through the third. Anyway, Ms. Smarty Pants Savannah is always asking to read books that she really isn't old enough for. She REALLY wanted to read the Hunger Games. I didn't let her for about a year and finally after I got tired of her asking, I let her read them. When we found out that Heber was having a midnight movie for the premiere we were super excited. The best news was that it was a night when she didn't have school the next day. We loved the movie (even though there is a lot more in the book). Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to sleep until 6 am (too much diet coke at the movie I guess). We were tired the rest of the weekend but it was worth it.

Hawaiian Blue and Gold

Powell and I are the Cubmasters in our ward.....not a good idea in my opinion but so far we have been able to stay married.....barely!!! Anyway we did a Hawaiian themed Blue and Gold banquet and it was really fun. We decorated the tables with different colored table cloths and used sand pails and beach balls with seashells for the centerpieces. It was such a fun night!
