Reflections

This year I was over Reflections at Timpanogus Intermediate School. It was seriously such a huge project. I don't know that I would ever do it again. We had 125 people who submitted projects (thank goodness for my big empty basement). In the process of me being in charge of Reflections I encouraged Savannah and Hunter to participate. Hunter is at a different school and they told me he had the best understanding of the theme of any other student! We had several discussions about the theme because it was a really hard one. The theme was "Diversity Means...." Anyway, he won in the visual art category with the picture he did of "Diverse Musicians" He divided a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper into squares that have different kinds of musicians. He drew and colored a rapper, a country western singer, a heavy metal dude, a pop star etc. It was very clever, fit the theme, and was all about his first love.....MUSIC!

My Domestic Diva!

No matter what I'm making in the kitchen, Brinley wants to help. She LOVES to cook. She is actually really getting good at measuring flour, sugar and salt. She helps me crack, sift, grate, stir, whip, roll, and of course she helps lick the spatula. I sure am glad I have such a wonderful helper!

Thanksgiving 2011

Little M's first Thanksgiving she could eat with her own teeth!

The Spencers
Uncle James came from Medical School!

This was our group minus Ryan's mom, Karen and Ashleigh's friend, Jennifer
It was my first time cooking the whole Thanksgiving!!!! It was a little stressful and tons of work but Powell and I were both really happy with the outcome. Our guests didn't bring much so I was cooking and cleaning for about 3 days. I even went and played at the Homestead for 3 hours before we ate. Luckily Powell is a good cook and he made the mashed potatoes and watched the Turkey while I was gone. Everything went well and we were glad that Tom felt good enough to eat and it even tasted good to him! At about 9pm, Tess (who was staying with us), Savannah and I went shopping for black friday. We stayed out ALL night! We were a little trashed the rest of the week but we had a great time!

BYU Football!

Hunter has been a UTAH fan and then a BYU fan and then back to UTAH again. We have really been teasing him about just choosing one or the other! Powell was able to get tickets to a BYU game so we were hoping it would sway him in that direction and it did!!!! Hunter is now an official BYU fan....for now anyway!
