There's nothing like a cold beer in the pool on a hot day!

Isn't this picture Powell took hilarious? I was at my Aunt Peggy's house with the kids for the last part of our family reunion. We floated down the canal and then had a little pool party. I was thoroughly enjoying myself drinking my shasta creme soda and cooling off in the kiddie pool. I look like someone who needs to get a life....and a tan!

The Twins!

So these are my favorite kids in the whole world (besides my own, of course). Madisen and Saige are my brother's twin girls. They are 3 1/2 and so adorable. They visited for 10 days while my brother and his wife went to Hawaii. We had lots of fun!
The kids loved riding the train at the zoo. Our favorite part of the zoo this year was the "white alligator". What an interesting animal. Savannah was amazed that there are only 10 like it in the whole world. It doesn't have any pigmentation in it's skin so it can't be in the sun or it will get burned!
We took a hike with Rachel and Dean at Cascade Springs. Savannah learned that picking plants isn't always a good idea. She found a patch of stinging nettle.
I bought 4 butterfly nets and they were cheap entertainment. The kids spent 2 days catching bugs. Hunter researched what butterflies eat and decided grapes and mandarin oranges would be just great. Unfortunately, the grapes really beat up the butterflies when Hunter shook the bottle!It's the "Creepy Heber".....as Saige called it! We did the 3 hour round trip to Vivian Park.

Happy 4th of July!

Well, after 25 pictures this is as good as it gets. Brinley was impossible for most of the pictures, Hunter wouldn't cooperate and Savannah kept opening her legs in her dress. I was yelling and ornery and it was 100 degrees in the shade. Next time I'm hiring someone!
We went to my mom's house with the Jenning's family. We built a fire in the fire pit and had hot dogs and smores. The kids had so much fun together. We watched the fireworks off of memorial hill and did a few of our own.
Look at Jonny...he's my favorite kid in the world. He's lovin' his fresca.

I asked the kids, "What was your favorite part about last night?"

Hunter's reply:
1. fireworks
2. playing with Ben, Jason, and Jonny out with the baby calves
3. eating smores
4. trying to shoot rock chucks with the bow and arrow

Savannah's reply:
1. roasting hot dogs
2. playing tag
3. shooting rock chucks
4. watching fireworks
5. putting my hands in the baby calves mouths
