Disneyland Part 1

We decided that we wanted to take the kids to Disneyland sometime in 2015. The little girls are at such cute ages and Mckenna especially loves Minnie Mouse and Princesses. We were waiting for Mckenna to be tall enough to go on most of the rides, which is 40 inches. She was exactly 40 inches at her 4 year old appointment in September. We booked our trip for January and decided we'd take them all out of school. After paying our money, we found out that there were going to be 5 ride closures at the beginning of the year, and they were rides that we LOVE. So as kind of a last minute thing, we changed our trip to the week after Thanksgiving. It was really hectic after having company and hosting Thanksgiving, but I was glad we did it. We were able to go on all of our favorite rides plus we got to see Disneyland decorated for Christmas.  The crowds weren't too bad. Not as busy as Christmas week but they weren't as "ghost town" as January would have been. When we were packing, we checked the weather and found it that it was going to rain for the first two days. Not just a few scattered showers but 100% chance of rain for two days straight. We decided we'd make the best of it and packed ponchos, extra socks, umbrellas, etc. The kids were really tough and luckily we booked 4 days in the parks so we had two days of rain and two warmer days. It really was a great trip.
Mckenna showing Dora and Boots what it looks like out the airplane window.
We arrived early on the day before we had our park passes so before we checked into our hotel, we drove to Newport beach. It was chilly but the kids still had fun climbing on the rocks and watching the birds. Savannah took some pictures for her photography class.

Our first ride at Disneyland on the first day was Thunder Mountain Railroad. There were a lot of "firsts" for Mckenna on this trip. This was her first big kid ride. She tolerated it but said she was too scared to go on it again.

Such a brave girl!
Loved my cuddles while we stood in line.
Waiting for Pirates of the Caribbean. We rode this one three times the first day.
We packed in a lunch to save money. It was raining sooooo hard. We changed our socks and dried our shoes in the driers in the bathroom.....don't worry, it wasn't smelly. Ha Ha. We packed in extra sweatshirts for each kid so it was nice to have something dry to put on. Honestly, we did really well keeping dry. The ONLY real problem was the special kids who couldn't watch out for puddles.....especially the one with the name that starts with H!
It's a small world.
The second day we spent in California Adventure Park. We were so excited to see the new Cars Land.
Soarin' is one of our favorite rides. It is one of the rides that is now closed. Supposedly they are making a bunch of changes to it.

Brinley was finally tall enough for California Screamin'. She was such a dare devil. She even waited for the front row.

Do you think Savannah might be bored riding the carousel with Mckenna? It looks like little M is having fun petting her sea animal.
This is the first time we have really gone to a show at Disney. With the rain, we thought we'd go to one. It was super good. It was Aladdin and the genie was a hoot.
This is a new place at California Adventure.....The Ghiradelli Ice Cream shop. It was pricey but we shared Sundaes and oh my!!!! So delicious.
