Fun with the Remunds in Heber

Brett and I decided we needed to sit down with the calendar if we were going to have time where we could see each other this summer. It was nice because Madi and Saige were going to be coming back from violin camp the week before we could go to Idaho. We invited them to stay for a few days and then we drove them home and stayed at their house for a few days. It was great to be able to spend that much time together. Unfortunately, Powell wasn't able to go to Idaho with us. One of the activities we wanted to do on our "Summer Fun" List was to hike. We found a hike in Big Cottonwood Canyon called "Donut Falls". Ali Thacker suggested if we were going to hike to somewhere called "Donut Falls", we better take some donuts. So that is what we did!

Mckenna LOVES to hike. She was so cute with her bag that Aunt Nat made her. She wanted to carry her own water in her own "backpack".

If you look at the top middle/left area you can see the part where the water flows through a hole, similar to a donut hole.

It was greener than I've seen in a really long time.

We ate our lunch after the hike.

And our dessert was donuts.

We traveled to Donut Falls by going to Salt Lake over parleys but we traveled back home down Guardsman Pass. We found a small patch of snow on the ground at the very top. The kids thought it was cool to see snow in June. 

We stopped in Midway to hike the crater at the Homestead. This is the water feature they have built recently.

This is the bridge you can cross at the top of the crater. Then you can look down in.

The kids slept out in the tent (only to be hit by the sprinklers in the middle of the night), jumped in the sprinkler on the tramp, played at the rope swing, ate Hawaiian Shaved Ice, played games and just hung out.

She said it was just like Hawaii.
