Happy 60th Party

We did a 60th birthday celebration in July because mom and dad both turned 60 in August. We planned a birthday party with family and friends to be held at the Rec Center. The day before the party mom bore her testimony in church with all of us there. She then had to go to the ER with chest pains. They transferred her to Utah Valley Hospital and they said she had a mild heart attack/episode. She spent the night in the hospital and then was released the day of the party. We decided to still have the party but with just family at their house. The caterer already had the food and we had some family who had already traveled for the party. Unfortunately, the night of the party mom had to go back to the hospital with a hematoma. We ate without mom and dad and still did the musical program we had prepared. When mom and dad returned about 9:30 pm the kids were good sports to repeat the program while mom and dad ate their late dinner. We don't always have control over everything that happens I guess. We are glad mom is ok and that they didn't find any problems with her heart. The party was special with our small group and in some ways I'm glad it turned out to be more intimate.
Mom and dad at the end of the music program
It's so fun so hear the twins play their violins

Hunter played 2 songs on his violin

It's always a pleasure when Savannah will play for us. She is getting so good!

The highlight of the music was when the 4 oldest grand kids did "Happy Birthday". Savannah accompanied Maddie, Saige and Hunter while they did 2 parts on their violins.

The four kids singing "You've got a neck from some old bottle...." which is a song dad used to sing to us!

The girls singing "You've Got a Friend" by Carole King and then "The Least of These" which is dads favorite song.

Scrapbook pages for people to write their memories, thoughts, well wishes, birthday wishes etc..

Pictures of mom and dad throughout the years and family pictures

Enjoying the delicious food!

We were glad Phillip and Claudia were able to come from Rexburg
Aunt Peggy and Aunt Debbie
Bob and Luann catered the meal and it was so awesome!
